   The Poodle is generally recognized as the most  intelligent of all the members of the breed. He is very good at  tricks, but it is his mental alertness  that sets him apart from other animals.   This dog's thick and long coat  has a special feature that if not  brushed regularly, it will curl into small strings, which grow as  new hair grows and clings around.The  old hairs that haven't fallen out and the new hairs that grow over each other become clear rope-like strands. Ultimately, if these ropes are not cut  or accidentally pulled, they will drag across the ground and thus prevent the poor animal from moving around with any degree of comfort or freedom.   Corded Poodles are very colorful and thanks to their outstanding plumage, they attract a lot of public attention when displayed at exhibitions; but they have fallen out of popularity with most hobbyists and  become few in number due to the obvious fact that it is not possible to keep them or keep them at home. The reason  is because their coat needs regular oiling to keep the cord soft and prevent breakage and of course since their coat is not combable it is the only way to keep the dog clean. washing it, which for a wired poodle is a long and laborious process. In addition, the coat takes hours to dry, and unless the newly groomed dog is kept in a warm room, it is very susceptible to colds.As a result, the coat of Corded Poodles is almost always dirty and foul-smelling.    General appearance of Poodle  -------------   Head: Long, straight and smooth, skull not very wide, with a slightly pointed crest at the back.   Muzzle: Long (but not pointed) and strong, not full of cheeks; white, strong teeth; Black gums, black lips and no lips.   Eyes: Almond-shaped, very black, fiery and intelligent.   Nose: Black and pointed.  Ears: Skin long and wide,  set low, hanging close to the face.   Neck: Balanced and strong, allowing the head to be held high and dignified.   Feet: Fairly small and well-shaped, toes  arched, pads thick and stiff.   Legs: Forelegs set straight from the shoulder, with many bones and muscles.   Hind legs: Very muscular and well flexed, ankles relaxed.  Tail: Set fairly high, bouncing, never arching or sticking back.   Hair: Lots and  good  texture; if there is a string, hang it with a tight, even string; without strings, very thick and strong, evenly long, loops tight and thick, no nots  strings.
